Consulting and Contracting Services

Drafting and mechanical design for production machinery, billed hourly — extra engineering capacity for your team, or a complete concept-to-drawing service on its own.

What we do

Extra engineering capacity when you need it

Drafting and mechanical design for production machinery, billed by the hour rather than quoted as a project.

Concept layouts, detail drafting, mechanical design and documentation — for machine builders, manufacturers and engineering teams who need the drawings rather than the machine. Some of this work sits alongside a customer’s own engineering team as extra capacity during a peak load. Some of it is the whole job, start to finish.

The same engineers who design and deliver our own turnkey lines do this work, so it carries the same standard whether or not Nash NZ ends up building anything.

Track record

The list is longer than we can keep track of

Twelve years of designing production machinery adds up to more equipment types than we can reliably list from memory. What’s stayed consistent is the pattern: nothing off a shelf, everything designed to the product and the building in front of us.

Conveying alone covers:

  • Pallet conveyors — chain, roller and gravity.
  • Product conveyors — roller, belt, slat chain, chain and gravity.
  • Incline and decline conveyors.
  • Lowerators and elevators.
  • Gripper chain conveyors — including bottling industry lines.

Beyond conveying: palletising and depalletising machines, built either around a robot or as dedicated individual-axis machines. Special purpose machines designed to a specific industry’s own requirements. And continuous forming machines that take extrudate from multiple extruders and form it in-line — a job with almost no standard equipment to start from.

If it doesn’t sit within any of that, ask anyway. Most of what we design didn’t exist as a category until someone needed it.

How it works

You bring the problem, we bring the drawings

Engagement is direct and hourly — a conversation with Nigel about what you need, then work begins. There is no minimum project size: a single drawing revision and an extended design programme are both in scope.

You keep visibility of hours as the work progresses, so the arrangement stays easy to scale up or down as your own workload changes.

Rate

Hourly, confirmed per project when we scope the work.

Lead time

Set with you at the start of the project and planned into the schedule from there, rather than quoted as a fixed figure up front.

CAD

SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Where it fits

Design only — not supply, fabrication or install

This is a drafting and design service. It does not include fabrication, equipment supply or installation.

If what you need is a complete line delivered on one price — equipment, freight, installation, commissioning and training included — that is our turnkey work instead: bagging and palletising systems from STATEC BINDER, or pallet pooling repair systems from Paterson Hughes.

Standards

Safety system designed to AS/NZS 4024, every time

Every design we produce is engineered to AS/NZS 4024, the same machinery safety standard behind every line we deliver ourselves — whether or not Nash NZ ends up building what we draw.
